Free online Age Calculator
Three simple steps
- Enter the date of birth.
- Choose the date to compare it with; use today for your current age.
- Read complete years and months, remaining days, and the total elapsed days.
Understand your result
This is a calendar-age calculator. It counts completed years and months, then the days left over. It also shows the total number of days between your dates.
Worked example
Born on 1 January 2000 and compared with 1 January 2026: the result is 26 years, 0 months, 0 days. Moving the comparison date to 16 January adds 15 days.
How dates are counted
A year is a calendar anniversary, not a fixed 365-day block. Months have different lengths, so the calculator uses calendar intervals instead of dividing the day count by 30. A comparison date before the birth date is rejected.
Leap-day birthdays and month ends
When an anniversary falls in a month without that day, this tool uses the last available day of that month. For example, 29 February 2024 to 28 February 2025 is one calendar year here. Legal age rules can differ by country; check the applicable rule for official purposes.
Common questions
Can I use this for a future birthday?
Yes. Pick a future comparison date on or after the birth date. This can also help you compare the ages of events, memberships, or other dated records.
Does the birth time or time zone matter?
This tool compares dates only. It does not calculate hours, minutes, or the exact moment of a birthday.
