Date Calculator

Find the calendar-day difference between two dates. Optionally count both start and end days.

Free online Date Calculator

Three simple steps

  1. Choose the two dates you want to compare.
  2. Leave “Include end date” off for elapsed days, or turn it on to count both endpoints.
  3. Read the total days and the calendar-month breakdown; reversed dates are handled in either order.
14 elapsed days; 15 days when both endpoints are included

Understand your result

This tool compares calendar dates, ignoring the time of day. It reports total days, approximate weeks, and complete calendar months with remaining days.

Worked example: elapsed versus inclusive

From 1 January to 15 January, 14 days elapse. If an event includes both 1 January and 15 January, select Include end date to count 15 days. Two identical dates give 0 elapsed days or 1 inclusive day.

Calendar months are not 30-day blocks

Month lengths vary. The calculator counts completed calendar-month intervals and then the remaining days. In inclusive mode, the end is advanced by one day before decomposing the interval, so crossing a month boundary is handled consistently.

Order, weekends, and time zones

Either date may be entered first; the result is an absolute duration. Weekends and holidays are included. This is not a business-day calculator. Date-only arithmetic is performed consistently to avoid daylight-saving shifts adding or removing a day.

Which count should I use?

Use elapsed days for the time between two dates. Use inclusive days when counting every date in an event or attendance period. Contracts, travel rules, and official deadlines can specify their own counting conventions.
